Secondly, the metric of GDP (capital growth /worker) is a trojan horse of the executive class. GDP is relentlessly presented in the media by corporate indoctrinated ‘experts’ as an objective measure of economic health, but it does not distinguish between capital growth benefitting society as a whole, and that which displaces workers, that which degrades the environment and society, that whose value flows into the pockets of plutocrats through wage theft and the absence of annual taxation on the total assets of those privileged with disposable wealth to invest and grow. The metric of GDP is a tool of plutocrats for measuring their own increasing wealth, perversely couched as: average growth per worker — though most workers will never reap the benefits it measures. GDP is a term used to publicly launder the excess “earnings” of the wealthy, to press and fold them statistically to give the impression to the voters of a benefit shared equitably by all of them.
